Mini-Vacation Planning

Ok, so I think we are going to have a family mini-vacation to Oklahoma City. I have spent the better part of 2 hours researching attractions and hotels for said trip.

Steve, if you are reading this, HELP! I have some great ideas, but I would like to do something that doesn't cost a lot of money, but will still hold my kids attention for more than 5 minutes!

What are some of your favorite mini-vacations?

April! I have a great idea for a hotel/motel - Le Chateau Kalmeyer!!! The only days booked for other guests are August 4th and 5th. Other than those days, you take your pick to nights/days/etc. We will not take no for an answer!!! Maybe Tim could give my kids and I a 15 minute guitar lesson?!?! ;o)

As far as other activities ... there's a botanical garden area downtown. You can go to Lake Hefner - gorgeous view with play stuff too. I'm still new to come up with real gems, but if you have a "theme" or "general" ideas, I'll contact "my people" to see what they say!

Thanks for the offer, but since I posted that, Tim has decided we can't go. :( School starts in two weeks, and there is alot going on at church, so he can't get away. We are planning a trip to Austin just the two of us in September, so money is being saved for that. Thanks for the thought though. If we do ever make it down that way, I'll let you know.
